This Privacy Policy describes how the ASCII Art to SVG Converter ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our web application. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Authentication Information: When you sign in through our authentication provider, we receive and store the following information associated with your account:

• Email address
• First and last name (if provided)
• Profile image URL (if provided)
• A unique user identifier

Session Information: We store a session identifier in a secure, HTTP-only cookie on your browser. Session records are stored in our database and automatically expire after seven (7) days.

Diagram Content: ASCII art diagrams that you submit for conversion are processed in real-time to generate SVG or DXF output. We do not store, log, or retain any diagram content you submit. Diagrams exist only in server memory during the conversion process and are discarded immediately upon completion.

Server Logs: Our server may automatically collect standard technical information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, browser type, and referring URLs. These logs are used solely for operational and security purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Authentication and Access Control: To verify your identity and confirm that your email address belongs to an authorized domain.
• Session Management: To maintain your signed-in state so you do not need to re-authenticate on every visit.
• Service Operation: To process your diagram conversion requests and deliver results.
• Security: To detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents, fraud, or abuse.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:

• When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• To protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.
• With your explicit consent.

4. Data Retention

Session data is automatically deleted after seven (7) days. Authentication records are retained only for the duration of an active session. We do not maintain long-term user profiles or usage histories beyond active session data.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including:

• Secure, HTTP-only cookies for session management
• Cryptographic verification of authentication tokens using industry-standard protocols (OpenID Connect with PKCE)
• Encrypted database connections

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

6. Cookies

We use a single essential cookie (session_id) to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie is:

• HTTP-only (not accessible to JavaScript)
• Secure (transmitted only over HTTPS)
• Set to expire after seven (7) days

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.

7. API Access

Our API endpoints (/api/convert-svg and /api/convert-dxf) are accessible without authentication. Data submitted to these endpoints is processed in real-time and is not stored or logged. API users should be aware that data transmitted to these endpoints traverses the public Internet and should take appropriate precautions for sensitive or confidential content.

8. Your Rights

You may:

• Sign out at any time, which immediately terminates your session and deletes your session record from our database.
• Request deletion of any stored data associated with your account by contacting the Service administrator.
• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
